Events, Events, and More Events!

Grandparents Day

March was a very busy month for us!  We were hard at work and had plenty of events to keep us from becoming a bit "schooled out."  Grandparents Day was a big hit!  Because our school is so small we were able to open this event up to any and all family members!  Boy, did we have a turn out!  Our wonderful Music teacher organized a Grandparents Day tribute through, music and mini plays.
Afterwords, grandparents came back up to the classroom to receive the gifts our students worked so hard on and to enjoy a beautiful performance of "What A Wonderful World" in sign language!

Here are some of the wonderful grandparents, aunties, uncles, moms, and dads that joined us!

Fifth Grade Buddy Reading

Now this was a wonderfully impromptu event!  I loved, loved, loved it!  One morning, our fifth grade teacher had an emergency situation she had to tend to and needed someone to help watch her class.  Well, fifth grade ended up in the kindergarten room and as soon as that happened, I knew what needed to be done! Each fifth grader picked a kinder to read to.  Then we switched and had some kinders read to their fifth grade partner!  We all had a blast!  Check it out:

Zoo/Dinosaur Exhibit

Our zoo has decided to add on a temporary dinosaur exhibit with robotic dinosaurs.  Now, pair that up with our zoo field trip and our current report writing about dinosaurs and of course, we all had to check it out!  Boy, oh boy!  We had so much fun!  There were dinosaurs that spit water as you walked by, which gave us all a startle the first time it happened.  There, were feathered dinosaurs, winged dinosaurs, and others we had no idea about!  This field trip was an awesome lead into our report writing!

That's all for now!

Until next time........
